I’m a writer.
I write speeches, op-eds, essays, news releases, blog posts … you get the idea.
From 2013 to 2018, I was Lead Speechwriter for Justin Trudeau (Canada’s Prime Minister), helping to shape his voice and tell important stories about our country. I held the pen on back-to-back political platforms. We won two elections along the way.
In 2018, I began to work closely with Bill Morneau (Canada’s former Finance Minister), and was his Director of Communications until February 2020, when I decided to take a break from politics. If you’ve found a typo in any of these four federal budgets, that’s on me.
I didn’t go far, though. I’m now full-time faculty in the Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management at Carleton University in Ottawa, where I teach strategic communications, media relations, and related topics.
