I’m a writer.
I write speeches, op-eds, essays, news releases, blog posts … you get the idea.
From 2013 to 2018, I was Lead Speechwriter for Justin Trudeau (Canada’s Prime Minister), helping to shape his voice and tell important stories about our country. I held the pen on back-to-back political platforms. We won two elections along the way.
In 2018, I began to work closely with Bill Morneau (Canada’s Finance Minister), and was his Director of Communications until February 2020, when I decided to take a break from politics. If you’ve found a typo in any of the last four federal budgets, that’s on me.
What’s next?
I’m not sure, except for this: I want to keep working with words and ideas, and I want to help people with great stories to tell get them out into the world.
So if you’re in need of a strong, empathetic writer who likes details and deadlines, let’s talk.
If you have an opinion, I can make your arguments stronger.
If you don’t know what to say, I can help you find your words and your voice.
And if you want to work with someone shorter than you are, well, you’re probably out of luck, but we’ll find a way to make it work.
